    Beef bandits make off with 400 cases of meat after cargo truck heist in Southwest Philadelphia

    Police are investigating after 400 cases of beef were stolen from a cargo truck in Southwest Philadelphia.

    Police told Action News that beef bandits made off with 12 pallets of meat that were taken from the back of the refrigerated tractor-trailer around 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday, nearly emptying it.

    The truck was parked on 63rd Street near Eastwick Avenue.

    No injuries were reported.

    The driver told police he opened the back to discover the theft.

    These types of heists have been happening more frequently in Northeast Philadelphia. However, there's no word yet if this crime is connected.
