With just months until the November election, the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump has put safety at the forefront across the country.

Philadelphia officials on both sides of the aisle joined together Monday to denounce political violence in the city.

City leaders held a news conference outside of City Hall in front of the statue of Octavius V. Catto.

The event came just two days after a gunman attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
