Philadelphia, PA – History will be made at Subaru Park tonight when 14-year-old Cavan Sullivan takes the field with the Philadelphia Union.

The Union has named Sullivan to its first team squad for its match against the New England Revolution, and at 14 years and 293 days old, Sullivan will become the youngest MLS player in history.

He beats the old record by 14 days, previously held by Freddy Adu when he played for D.C. United.

Sullivan has been playing for the Union’s reserve team for the past two years, with head coach Jim Curtin saying for the youngster that his “talent is elite.”
