    CHOP resident killed in car crash in Center City

    The bicyclist who died after being hit by a car in Center City has been identified as an oncology resident at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

    Philadelphia Police say this happened in the bike lane along Spruce Street near Rittenhouse Square.

    Police said a car hit 30-year-old Barbara Ann Friedes who was on her bike. She was taken to the hospital after the crash but did not survive.

    The driver, a 68-year-old man, was speeding, according to police reports.
