NFL Insider says Eagles are at the top of the list for legendary coach

There's no question that the Philadelphia Eagles have fallen short of expectations in the past few years, which certainly hasn't helped head coach Nick Siranni's case to keep the job for the long haul.

Knowing all that, it wouldn't be totally shocking if the Eagles decided to move on from Siranni following the 2024 campaign if things don't pan out again, and that's especially true knowing some of the available head coaches out there.

One of those is former New England Patriots and future Hall of Fame head coach Bill Belichick, who ESPN's Jeremy Fowler believes would definitely want the job in Philly if it opens up in 2025.

Here's what Fowler said on the Talkin' Ball with Pat Leonard podcast .

"If Philly opens, it's just a perfect fit for me, in my opinion," Fowler said. "I think (Belichick) would want that job in the worst way."

While that would certainly be a great replacement option for the Eagles, Fowler notes that Philly could have competition for Belichick's services from the division rival Dallas Cowboys , a team Fowler believes the legendary head coach will also have interest in.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is less safe than Sirianni is at this point in time, but there is absolutely a scenario in which both get the boot in 2025, which could set up an epic showdown between NFC East rivals for the greatest head coach in NFL history.
