PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three people are dead and six are injured after a mass shooting at a party in West Philadelphia early Sunday.

Police say they responded to a report about a person with a gun along the 1200 block of N. Alden Street around 2 a.m.

When they arrived, they found multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say a 33-year-old, 23-year-old and 29-year-old died. Six others, ranging in age from 26 to 30, were taken to a nearby hospital, where they are all listed in stable condition.

Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace says they believe more than 100 people were in attendance of the party before shots rang out.

“It does appear that people were invited specifically to this location for this gathering,” he said.

Nikal, who lives down the street from where the shooting took place, said it was a beautiful time until people started fighting.

“I was at the door, I saw people running, and then I went back in the house, because everyone was running.”

Police recovered a gun from the scene, where they say there were at least 25 spent shell casings.

Police believe multiple parties were involved in the shooting. As of now, no one is in custody.
