    Gillie Da Kid Commemorates First Anniversary Of Son’s Death With Billboard In Times Square

    Gillie Da Kid is honoring his son, YNG Cheese’s life, on the one year anniversary of his tragic death .

    On Saturday (July 20), the podcast host shared that he commemorated his late son’s life with a video billboard in Times Square. “1998-2023. Crushed us forever,” read the montage of highlights from the slain rapper’s life.

    Gillie captioned the post, “Long Live Cheese [crying emoji]. Miss u kid #WeGotChase.”

    Cheese, born Devin Spady, was murdered in a triple shooting in Philadelphia in July 2023 at the age of 25. At the time, he was taken to the hospital by local authorities along with the other men who were shot, but Spady was later pronounced dead .

    Gillie broke his silence on the tragic incident a week after his son’s death.

    “I Miss u like $**t Dev. My heart will forever have a Black hole in it but u know ur father gotta be strong to hold the family up,” penned the 40-year-old. “Thanks 4 all the support from family, friends, and all of my followers y’all really helping me get thru these ruff times Me and my family appreciate and love y’all [blue heart emoji]. Rest Well dev and watch over us u know I got chase [crying emoji] love u Cheese.”

    Gillie’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game co-host Wallo also took to Instagram honoring Cheese upon his passing.

    “Lil Cuz usually when I talk to you, I got a lot to tell you,” he wrote under a photo of the late rapper. “Tonight the pain in my heart & tears spoke to you. I love you beyond life Cheese. I got your father, Rest Well!”

    A suspect was never named in relation to Spady’s death.
