Jalen Hurts jumped the gun at the podium following Day 1 of Eagles training camp Wednesday.

A reporter asked the quarterback about the dynamic between him and coach Nick Sirianni — which allegedly is shaky — but Hurts cut him off before the question was finished.

“Jalen, there’s a report that came out that your and Nick’s relationship…” the reporter asked.

“Let me say this first,” Hurts said before the question could be completed.

“You go through an offseason, you put a lot of work in, I think all the things we’ve been through last year, all the opportunity we had last year, I know everybody is hungry. Everybody is hungry. There’s a ton of opportunity in front of us this year. I’m excited to be back, excited to go through this journey and go through this season with everyone here. Everyone. I truly trust (owner) Mr. [Jeffrey] Lurie, I trust (general manager) Howie [Roseman], I trust coach Sirianni to lead us in that right direction.”

After the Eagles lost six of their last seven games following a 10-1 start, including a blowout wild-card loss to the Buccaneers, eyes turned to the star quarterback and his coach.

Multiple reports stated there were lingering issues between Sirianni and Hurts, and a recent report from The Athletic said the relationship is “still a work in progress.”

However, as the new season rolls around, Hurts, 25, indicated that they are on good terms.

“I think we’re in a great place,” Hurts said.

“I think anytime you have any frustration, anytime you have any adversity that you have to overcome, it’s supposed to test you. I think it’s a matter of being on the same page. I think if we were maybe on the same page, we maybe would have accomplished the things we would have and we didn’t. But that’s a learning experience.”

Sirianni, 43, attempted to downplay the rumored tension.

“The only thing you can judge relations on is your personal interactions with people, not any report that comes out,” Sirianni said, per CBS . “Jalen and I’s relationship is good. When you hear a report like that, you don’t put much stock into it because, quite frankly, not everybody sees it. We’ve done some pretty special things. I’m really excited for him, he’s worked so hard on his game.”

Hurts and Sirianni are heading into their fourth season together, and with the addition of Kellen Moore as an offensive coordinator, Sirianni’s role has slightly changed.

No longer calling plays as he oversees both Moore and new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, he will not spend as much time with the offense.

“I trust coach Sirianni to lead us in the right direction. I know there are different roles in place. Everyone has different responsibilities. There may be more demands from some than others,” Hurts said.

“But I think to win championships, to be the team you want to be, everyone has to buy into that role and everyone has to be fully committed to doing their part in helping the team.”
