Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has a new “CEO” role with the team this year and he’s using it early during training camp.

Players have noticed–and it’s creating some interesting reactions.

Take, for example, star wideout A.J. Brown, who threw out the word “uncomfortable” when talking about it at training camp.

“He kind of makes the young guys uncomfortable when he comes in the wide receiver room,” Brown said, according to NBC Sports’ Dave Zangaro . “Because he’s just holding everyone accountable. It’s new. Our guys only see the wide receiver coach most of the time and when you see the head coach come in there, it’s like, ‘Uh oh.’ They sit up straight and everything. It’s kind of funny. But he has been coaching everybody, doing everything.”

It’s part of a concentrated effort from Sirianni to oversee the entire team instead of just core offensive pieces, such as the quarterback room. This, after last season’s historic collapse, led to his sitting on the hot seat briefly, to the point he recently had to deflect Bill Belichick rumors .

Sirianni is back in this new role though, with new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio in the fold. He’s no longer running his offense and the change to how things work clearly has players noticing.
