Saquon Barkley's Bold Reasoning Behind Choosing Eagles Revealed

From one NFC East rival to another, former New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley revealed his bold reasoning behind choosing the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency over a potential return to New York.

"Ultimately, I came here to build a new legacy, compete, and win championships,” Barkley said.

The Eagles have been on the cusp of a Super Bowl over the last two seasons but have not been able to get the job done. Now, with Barkley, the hope is that he is one of the last missing pieces of the puzzle.

Going through his fair share of ups and downs throughout his career with the Giants, mainly due to injuries, led him to be dispensable at a certain price for New York; however, he has still been the bulk of the offense for the Giants since he was drafted and has been one of the best running backs in the NFL when healthy.

Last season, Barkely rushed for 962 yards and six touchdowns in one of the worst offenses in football. But in 2022, he ran for 1,312 yards and racked up ten touchdowns. He has rushed for over 5,000 yards and 35 touchdowns during his time with the Giants. Now, he brings his unique and talented skillset to the Eagles, which the Giants will be seeing twice a year.
