Taryn Kloth has fans in tears after sharing emotional journey to Olympics via LSU with Kristen Nuss in beach volleyball

FANS were touched to see US beach volleyball star Taryn Kloth’s social media clip where she spoke about her journey to the Paris Olympics.

Kloth has teamed up with her former LSU teammate Kristen Nuss to play beach volleyball in this year’s Olympics .

The 27-year-old Kloth appeared in an Instagram clip from Creighton Bluejays’s social media page.

She was part of the college’s volleyball team in 2018 before playing three seasons with LSU.

During the video, Kloth was asked to say to the camera, “My name is Taryn Kloth and I’m an Olympian.”

But before saying those words, Kloth was blown away by her achievement and her eyes began to water.

After saying the statement, she said, “That’s going to make me cry… That’s wild.”

Kloth proceeded to laugh and wipe away tears from her eyes.

The video then detailed her collegiate journey as she and Nuss went 36-0 in her second year with the Tigers.

Fans were moved by Kloth’s path to her first Olympics.

“Well I’m crying. Such a beautiful journey,” one commented.

“Bring home the gold,” another wrote.

“The Bluejay Nation is so proud of you!” a third added.

The US team of Kloth and Nuss, ranked No. 2 in the world, made their debut with a 21-17, 21-14 win over Canada at Eiffel Tower Stadium in Paris on Saturday.

They are the first American beach volleyball pair ever to go for Olympic gold without any connection to California.

After the match, Kloth and Nuss were seen in an Instagram snap with LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne .

The trio gave the school’s “L” hand gesture in the pic.

“Geaux Tigers & Geaux US,” LSU’s Instagram page wrote in the caption of the photo.

Kloth and Nuss will go up against Australia ‘s Mariafe Artacho Del Solar and Taliqua Clancy on Monday at 4 pm Eastern.

“It was so magical,” Nuss said of playing Saturday’s game at sunset.

“To walk into the venue and hear all the fans and hear everybody was spectacular.

“And then you got to see the spectacle of the light show.”
