PHILADELPHIA – On the way to a lopsided Yankees’ win, Jazz Chisholm wanted something of his own, personal Aaron Judge hitting experience.

How would it feel to swing one of Judge’s bats in a big-league game?

Judge had already blasted home runs No. 38 and 39 on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park, and Chisholm had collected his first homer as a Yankee in the second inning.

By the ninth, the Phillies had backup catcher Garrett Stubbs on the mound, and an idea was born.

“You know what, Cap? I’m either going to go up there right-handed, or I’m going to use your bat,’’ the lefty-hitting Chisholm said to Judge, with the Yanks up by eight runs.

Permission was granted and Chisholm delivered, smashing a two-run homer to right to cap a 14-4 Yankees’ win, their third straight – and second since acquiring Chisholm.

“He’s a dynamic player,’’ Judge said of Chisholm, who arrived via trade Saturday from the Miami Marlins. “He’s excited to be here, he’s having fun.

“He’s definitely making a big impact so far.’’

Chisholm seamlessly handled his first big-league game as a third baseman, Monday, having played center field and second base with Miami.

Ready for another new experience by the ninth inning, Chisholm picked up Judge’s 35-inch, 33-ounce bat and was “kind of taking some practice swings, and kind of looked at me,’’ said Judge, who told his new teammate to “make sure you use it.’’

After Chisholm connected for his second homer of the night and 15 th of the year, Judge said: “I think I get half a homer for that one.’’

“He could get a half, but I’ve got to get a full one,’’ said Chisholm, batting sixth Monday between Giancarlo Stanton (just off the injured list) and Gleyber Torres.

In his first 48 hours as a Yankee, "these guys have been welcoming me with open arms,'' said Chisholm, and the added attention has "been really wild. Everybody from the Bahamas (where he was born and raised) is calling me.''

As for his switch to third base, "I felt really comfortable,'' said Chisholm, who started a double play, handled a tough in-between hop, snared a liner and nearly made a fabulous backhand play toward the line - saving a double in the process.

"We’ll keep it fluid too,'' said manager Aaron Boone of Chisholm's presence at third base, essentially making DJ LeMahieu a part-time player. "It’s not a set-in-stone kind of thing.''

"(Being) back in the infield, it felt great,'' said Chisholm. "That’s where I feel like I deserve to be.''

And the extra perk of watching Judge from a dugout perch has been “crazy to see up front, the way he goes about it. The way he works is sick,’’ said Chisholm.

“It’s my first time seeing a player really work like him.’’

Just don't expect Chisholm to repeat Monday's ninth inning bat choice.

"Definitely not going to use that again, that bat was so heavy,'' said Chisholm.
