Penn State Football On the Rise Again
The Eagles and Steelers Aren’t the Only Football Teams On the Upswing in PA. If you’ve been a long-time Eagles fan — the name of LaVar Arrington probably doesn’t make you feel too good. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native was a 2x Second-Team All-Pro for the Washington Commanders and New York Giants between 2000–2006.
A Missed Connection
Being Drafted By the Eagles in 1944 Was a Cause for Celebration. The Only Piece Missing Was To Let Norm Michael Know that He Was Drafted. For the selected few who get the opportunity to hear their names called at the end of April each year and walk across that stage with hundreds of camera flashes going off around you — the opportunity is breathtaking. The process of one of the NFL’s largest events each year viewed by 12.1 million people generally works better when you inform the Draft Picks of the potential of being selected, or even when they are selected by one of the NFL’s 32 franchises.
The Roar of the Lion – Heard By the Birds.
The Roar of the Lion — Heard By the Birds. Penn State Football Is Back, Not Just As A Winning Team But As One of the NCAA’s Top Football Programs. For those who assumed that Penn State Football would never return to prominence again, they don’t know James Franklin. Penn State Football is once again one of the top programs in the country — and the NFL is taking notice. The Eagles are at the top of that list.
Cristopher Sanchez Has Been Snubbed from the All-Star Game
The All-Star selections have been announced and the Phillies have 7 players selected. Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Alec Bohm, Ranger Suarez, Zack Wheeler, Matt Strahm, and Jeff Hoffman have all been named All-Stars. It feels strange in a year where the Phillies have a franchise record in players named to the All-Star game to say that there would be a snub, but the reality is Cristopher Sanchez was snubbed from the All-Star game.
Current Roster Candidates for the Eagles’ Hall of Fame
The Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame is an exclusive place where only the best of the best can find their names. Which current players might find themselves there, as well?. Both of the players here have had incredibly long and successful careers with Philadelphia, essentially making them locks for the team’s Hall of Fame. These are two different cases, so let’s take a look.
New Eagles That Need To Make An Impact In 2024
The Eagles may have made some drastic changes throughout the roster. But there’s still some uncertainty about the depth chart. But with the new coaching changes and acquisitions made in the offseason (and yet to come), there’s plenty of players who will have their opportunity to make an impact on the roster.
The Great Depression Made the Eagles. World War II Made Them Champions
The Great Depression Made the Eagles. WWII Made Them Champions. The War Shaped Many Pennsylvania Boys. When They Returned, They Made the Philadelphia Eagles Winners. It’s been eighty years since American, Canadian, Australian, and British forces landed on the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from the clutches of the combined Axis Powers of Germany, Japan, and Italy. From the Pacific Theater to battlefields in Europe, both former and present-day NFL players would do their duty as American soldiers.
Even Before the Ink Was Dry
Just Like July of 1776, Philadelphia Is Positioning Itself To Make History Once Again. Two Hundred and Fourty-Eight years ago — during a sweltering summer July in Philadelphia — our nation was born thanks to the brave leadership of 56 founding fathers. For seventeen days in June — Thomas Jefferson — worked each day out of a house that he had taken up residence in at 700 Market Street and poured for seventeen days on the first draft of what would become the Declaration of Independence. Occasionally he wandered into Philadelphia’s taverns, sipped ale and touched pen to hallowed parchment and inked a rough draft of those words which have become lore in America.
Rising From the Ashes
One Hundred Years Ago Professional Football Came to Philadelphia. We Never Looked Back. It’s been 100 years since Pro Football began in Philadelphia. Its arrival was not a sudden explosion of athleticism dropped into the middle of North Philadelphia with a well healed plan for expansion. And it did not begin on the wings of an Eagle, but rather the sting of a Yellow Jacket.

General Manager Danny Briere attempted to move up in the draft order by working out a deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets, which never went through. Columbus ended up taking the second-best center in the draft, Cayden Lindstrom.
What Should the Phillies Do with Whit Merrifield?
Whit Merrifield signed a one year $8M deal with the Phillies late this off-season despite reportedly looking for a two year deal. Bryce Harper was a key recruiter in bringing him to sign in Philadelphia. It’s clear Harper’s word held a lot of water in both Philadelphia and Merrifield’s camp. Merrifield was signed to play the super utility role while providing some much needed contact from the right side of the plate. Merrifield can play all three outfield positions, second base, third base, and even has appeared at first base three times all while boasting a career .281 batting average.
Eight Seconds, 46 Seconds, No Timeouts.
For the Eagles Top Offense, Eight Seconds Still Fester. NFL Athletes need to have short memories. Make a great play and enjoy it. Make a key mistake, learn from it and move on while hoping that you still have a career as a professional athlete afterward. Then prepare for the next play.
A Loss for the Sixers; A Gain for Villanova
The Knicks Are Planning to Win With the Best of Villanova. Like all NBA teams, the Sixers have deep scouting capabilities that can reach across the globe to evaluate prospective talent. It seems like the Sixers-Regional-Talent-Evaluator didn’t extend to just ten miles outside of Philadelphia to cast its gaze on...
