    NJ Transit announces it will be free for a week

    It is not often you will get something for free, but if you are a New Jersey Transit rider, you may want to read this.

    Governor Murphy announced that all service will be free for a week to compensate for months of nightmare commutes.

    All fares will be waived on all modes of NJ Transit from August 26 through September 2.

    If you are a monthly pass holder and already bought an August pass, you will automatically get a 25% discount on the September pass.

    The transit agency and Amtrak are also working together to improve service along the Northeast Corridor.
