Emergency crews have found a car that went into the Schuylkill River.

Police report this happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning by Kelly Drive.

PHL17 was able to talk to an eyewitness who saw what happened and tried to help.

“I called 911 and police said they’d be right out, and five minutes went by, and the car still was floating around the pillar, now floating to the other side, going towards Girard Ave Bridge,” said Anthony Manduzio.

Manduzio said when police got there, they dived right in and started looking for the car.

Emergency crews said it had been hard to retrieve the car because the water kept moving the vehicle.

The car was retrieved from the river at around 8:50 a.m.
