Severe thunderstorms hit the Philadelphia area Sunday, knocking down trees and pulling down power lines.

As storms moved through the area between 4 and 10 p.m., some areas saw damaging winds up to 50 mph.

In Northeast Philadelphia, wind gusts toppled a large tree onto a man’s home.

It happened on the 7100 block of Lawndale Avenue in Burholme.

There are no reports of any injuries to anyone inside the home.

As PECO crews worked to cut down parts of the tree throughout the evening, neighbors in the area said they lost power.

On Monday morning, 214 customers were without power in Philadelphia County.

The severe weather heavily impacted travel in the area, canceling 50 flights at Philadelphia International Airport on Sunday and delaying more than 400 flights.

As of early Monday morning, there were 30 delays and 29 cancelations at PHL.

On the rail lines, Amtrak temporarily suspended service Sunday between Philadelphia 30th Street Station and New York Penn Station due to flooding on the tracks. Service resumed by 10:30 p.m.

More thunderstorms are expected to move into the Philadelphia area on Monday afternoon between 2 and 5 p.m.
