PA Turnpike increasing lanes and safety patrol during Labor Day weekend

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is ramping up resources ahead of Labor Day weekend travel.

The PA Turnpike commission is projecting an estimated 2.9 million motorists to travel the turnpike system starting Thursday, August 29th.

In an effort to make the roadways more efficient, the turnpike will suspend construction projects starting Thursday at 3:00 p.m., as well as increase Geico safety patrol teams.

Drivers are still being urged to be safe and respect highway workers.
