Travel Alert: PA Turnpike emergency phone number restored across the entire Commonwealth

UPDATE: As of 5:50 a.m. the *11 Emergency Phone Number is now back online.

ORIGINAL STORY: ( WJET/WFXP ) — According to the PA Turnpike Commission, as of 4:11 a.m. the *11 (Star 11) emergency phone number is currently unavailable throughout the entire Commonwealth.

The Turnpike Commission advises motorists to dial 911 for any emergency along the PA Turnpike until further notice.

Currently, there is no information on the cause of the outage or estimated restoration time.
