Philadelphia legislators look to ban cars from parking in bike lanes

There is new legislation in City Hall to crack down on cars parking in bike lanes.

This comes after a string of tragic cyclist deaths at the hands of drivers.

“The Philadelphia Inquirer” reports the legislation from Council President Kenyatta Johnson and Councilmember Jamie Gauthier would make it illegal for drivers to pull over or stop in the lanes at all.

The bill would also increase penalties for bike lane violations.
