The Phillies drop game four and split the series against the Marlins down in Miami, where Phillies rookie right-hander Seth Johnson made his major league debut.

Johnson only lasted 2.1 innings before getting relieved by righty Max Lazar. He gave up nine earned runs on eight hits, three walks, and no strikeouts.

The start to this blowout came from a two-run homerun from Conor Norby in the first inning.

The Marlins score seven more runs off Johnson in the third inning, where he only lasted one-third of that inning.

The lack of the Phillies offense also contributed to their blowout. They did not record a hit until the sixth inning, and their only run didn’t come until the ninth inning.  Bryce Harper singled on a ground ball to center field, and Johan Rojas got the run.

Although the Phillies failed to win their fifth straight series, they’re looking for a comeback win when they make their way back home today to kick off the three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
