Today is National Wiener Schnitzel Day and if you’re looking to celebrate the traditional Austrian dish, PHL17 has compiled the ten best Wiener Schnitzel spots in or near Philly according to Yelp.

    1. Brauhaus Schmitz: 718 South St

    Reviewers say:

“The Wiener Schnitzel was excellent as well but very heavy. It’s a meal for two for all you ladies interested in getting it. I wished I went with the red-pepper sauce instead since it’s a staple item. The Hollandaise schnitzel is new to the menu, but just as good for everyone who likes hollandaise sauce.”

    2. Blue Danube Restaurant: 538 Adeline St (Trenton)

    Reviewers say:

“Definitely recommend the Beef Goulash and the Wiener schnitzel. The pierogis are also not to be missed. Portions are huge, prices are reasonable. Worth the trip down to Trenton.

    3. Rieker’s Prime Meats: 7979 Oxford Ave

    Reviewers say:

“We recently won a $100 gift certificate for Rieker’s and was shocked by how much I was able to get for $100- a pound of the best bacon I’ve ever had, a pound of scrapple, a hanger steak the length of my forearm, 1 lb of salami, a bacon-wrapped pork roast stuffed with sausage, 12 landjaeger (think freshly made slim jims only 1,000 x’s better,) 1 lb of American cheese, 2 large containers of sauerkraut, 4 German wieners (hot dogs,) 4 freshly made hamburger patties, my boyfriend’s favorite German mustard, and Wiener schnitzel. All of their meats are made in store, super fresh, and fantastic! So far we’ve had the bacon, hanger steak, and burgers and it was amazing! I took 2 burgers to my mom and she’s been texting me for hours about how good it was. The employees working the meat counter were super attentive and friendly as were the girls at the register. They also have freshly made spätzle which I haven’t tried yet as I’m currently doing low carb. I usually make the spätzle myself but I will definitely be trying theirs in the future! I will never go to buy our meat anywhere else!”

    4. Frankford Hall: 1210 Frankford Ave

    Reviewers say:

“For food to start off I had a couple of sausages Weisswurst (veal, pork) and Bratwurst. They were very good. Then had the Wiener Schnitzel it was great with Potato salad that was just ok.”

    5. The Dinner House: 2706 E Allegheny Ave

    Reviewers say:

“I absolutely love this mom and pop kitchen (which is actually just a mom (or grandmom maybe?). Authentic home polish cooking that’s fresh, flavorful and wholesome. It’s also wonderfully affordable. Im in love with the breaded pogrkchop , like schnitzel but better than Ive had anywhere, and the perogies are heavenly (mushroom especially good).”

    6. BRÜ Craft & Wurst: 1318 Chestnut St

    Reviewers say:

“Very good Wiener schnitzel! Beer was good and service was excellent! I was there for lunch so it was very low key and not crowded. Not sure what the place is like in the evening but I imagine it could be fun.”

    7. Sebastian’s Schnitzelhaus: 43 Fort Dix St (Wrightstown, NJ)

    Reviewers say:

“We had a delicious meal here. We are not from the area, but we were looking for some really authentic German food to go with the Hofbrau Oktoberfest six-pack we had. Sebastian’s is authentic, BYOB, and delicious. Great staff and a great meal. The Wiener Schnitzel with Rahm sauce was delicious. As were the potato pancakes.”

    8. Carriage House Restaurant: 745 Gravel Pike Rte 29 (East Greenville, PA)

    Reviewers say:

“Had an amazing first experience at this restaurant. The service was great, and the food was phenomenal. The Wiener Schnitzel was exceptional, and the käsespätzle was superb. I will happily return to this restaurant in the future!”

    9. Best of the Wurst: 625 Harrison St (Riverside, NJ)

    Reviewers say:

“Good traditional German food great setting right on the river, Weiner schnitzel was great”

    10. Erwin’s Country Kitchen: 4059 Brownsville Rd (Trevose, PA)

    Reviewers say:

“Step through the time warp! Everything is dated back to the time when comfort food was good for you! Wiener schnitzel, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut warmed my inners! Price is right. Small town goodness. Decor is all conversation pieces.”
