Aramark workers to begin strike at Sports Complex

Aramark workers in the Sports Complex will be on strike.

Cooks, servers, bartenders, dishwashers, concessions workers, cleaners, retail workers and warehouse employees will be picketing outside Citizens Bank Park, The Wells Fargo Center, and Lincoln Financial Field.

Unite Here Local 274 is calling for healthcare and family sustaining wages and a spokesperson for Aramark told “The Philadelphia Inquirer” that the company has bargained in good faith with the union for more than six months and that it will continue to do so during the strike.

The company has a contingency plan in place for the absence of workers.
