Aramark workers at all three South Philadelphia stadiums were on strike.

Members of Unite Here Local 274 which represents about 1,500 workers, picketed outside Citizens Bank Park.

Because of the strike, “The Philadelphia Inquirer” reports over a dozen food and beverage deliveries weren’t fulfilled.

The Union encouraged fans not to purchase food or drinks from vendors inside the stadium.

“We’re fighting for life sustaining wages and we’re fighting for our health care” said a spokesperson for Unite Here Local 274. “We’re basically fighting for our livelihood out here and Aramark refuses to have any conversations with us”.

A spokesperson for Aramark tells “The Philadelphia Inquirer’ the company has bargained in good faith with the Union for more than six months and that it will continue to do so during the strike.

The company said it has a contingency plan in place for the absence of workers.
