A former Delaware County detective of the Nether Providence Police Department has turned himself in after new charges from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

Michael Erickson resigned from the force on Monday, the same day he was charged with indecent assault.

This stems from an incident in Aston Township, PA while he was off duty.

“The Philadelphia Inquirer” reports Erickson is accused of sexually assaulting a female relative while she was passed out at a party back in June.

The investigation began in the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office and Erickson was immediately put on administrative leave.

The Attorney General’s Office took over in July.

Nether Providence Police said they are taking the situation very seriously and they’re cooperating with investigators.
