Teen pleads guilty in deadly 2022 shooting near Roxborough High School

One of the teenage suspects has pled guilty in the investigation into a deadly shooting that happened in 2022, outside of Roxborough High School.

“The Philadelphia Inquirer” reports that 19-year-old Zyhied Jones, admitted that he was one of the five suspects. Jones was 17 at the time of the crime.

Prosecutors said Jones is one of three teens that are charged with killing 19-year-old Tahmir jones, the day before. Zyhied is not related to Tahmir.

Philadelphia Police report that in September 2022, five suspects got out of a parked car, and started shooting at other teens near an athletic field at Roxborough High School.

14-year-old Nicholas Elizalde was killed, and four other teens were wounded.
