PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Dresses, shoes, jewelry, ties, are among the hundreds of items that local nonprofit The Wardrobe is giving away during their monthly Open Wardrobe event on Thursday. The theme for September plays on the back-to-school season for parents and caregivers to select attire and accessories that they might need for work and other social activities. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., guests will receive free clothing along with additional community resources at all of its four Wardrobe locations.

“Whether someone needs an outfit for work or everyday life or coaching to help them build their career, they receive free support,” said Sheri Cole, executive director of The Wardrobe. She’s been serving the non-profit for 24 years. “The Wardrobe is also committed to eliminating clothing insecurity, empowering people for success, and curbing fashion waste.”

For nearly 30 years, the Wardrobe has been operating in the Greater Philadelphia area. It has four locations, all of which are hosting an Open Wardrobe on September 26. Locations include: 62 W. Marshall Rd. Upper Darby, 413 N 4th St. Philadelphia near Northern Liberties, 345 Scarlett Road in Kennett Square, and on the 2nd floor of the Exton Square Mall.

While walk-ins are welcome, participants are encouraged to RSVP at wardrobepa.org/open-wardrobe .
