The School District of Philadelphia wants to get parents and families involved in the process of selecting the academic calendar for the next two school years.

As the School District of Philadelphia begins its initial stages of developing the Academic Calendars for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years, the district has created a survey for parents and teachers to weigh in.

“Our goal is to create calendars that support student learning and meet the needs of students, families and staff, while adhering to the educational requirements mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and various Collective Bargaining Units,” said Tony B. Watlington, Sr., Ed.D. Superintendent for the School District of Philadelphia.

“We cannot achieve this goal without feedback from our stakeholders, so I invite all students, families, staff and community members to complete the Academic Calendar Feedback Survey.”

The Academic Calendar Feedback survey is currently open and the last day to take the survey is October 9. The survey will allow families, teachers, principals, and external stakeholders to understand the restrictions and requirements for academic calendars, review possible versions of the next two academic calendars, and share feedback on those options.

Once the survey closes the district will finalize their calendar proposal and will then present them to the Board of Education in January 2025.
