PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — The 12th Annual RoxtoberFest is taking over Ridge Avenue in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia on Saturday, October 5. The fall festival is welcoming families to enjoy the day with a traditional German beer fest mixed with a line-up of musical entertainment, hundreds of vendors and food trucks, cemetery tours, costume contests, games and kid-friendly activities.

“It’s all about community and multi-generational families coming out to Ridge Avenue supporting our small local businesses,” said Jax Cusack, executive director of the Roxborough Development Corporation .

The neighborhood non-profit is excited to expand the festival introducing ‘Spocktoberfest’ celebrating the creativity, fandom, and sci-fi spirit within the community. Star Trek fans can visit DuPont Street dressed in cosplay and jam to out-of-this-world tunes from the Roddenberries – the Galaxy’s premiere sci-fi party band.

RoxtoberFest is bringing back its scarecrow building activity and adding the Scarecrow Walk to the list of attractions. Other events include a new mini-car show, Oktoberfest costume contest, a beer stein holding contest and more. For New Ridge Brewing Co. beer, and join us for one of the neighborhood’s most cherished fall traditions. The event is no charge and open to the public, with food and drink pay-as-you-go.
