PennDOT and Pennsylvania State Police have a message for drivers: no more speeding in highway work zones.

This message comes as part of their new joint initiative “Operation Yellow Jacket”.

Troopers will now be on-site, wearing PennDOT vests and hard hats.

If they’re alerted to traffic violations like speeding or tailgating, a second trooper in a patrol car will be ready for traffic stops.

“Operation Yellow Jacket” is being deployed in work zones throughout southeast Pennsylvania to protect construction workers and reduce deaths.

PennDOT shares that we can all do our part by paying attention and slowing down.

On weekends, and when no work or construction is being done, the speed should be adjusted ..
