Lincoln Mill immerses daring souls in interactive haunted house experience

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — A horror story is playing out in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia, as Lincoln Mill Haunted House returns for a 3rd season terrorizing daring souls who visit the mill on Main Street. Unlike many frightening productions, Lincoln Mill is the only story-driven haunted house in the northeast that immerses visitors in its production. More than 50 “ghosts” spook the property on the inside and outside of the building.

“In 2021 Lincoln Mill flooded from Hurricane Ida, so we played off that idea,” said Brian Corcodilos, co-founder of Lincoln Mill Haunted House. He originally used the building as office space before the pandemic lockdown. After it flooded, he called his old frat brother, Jared Bilsak and they decided to restore the building to its original glory.

The story goes: The Lincoln Mill opened in 1860 and was one of Manayunk’s numerous textile mills. During the Great Depression in the 1930’s, Viktor Kane, the mill owner, tormented and experimented on his workers. Many of those workers lost their lives. Construction has since been halted and the mill is under investigation.

“We’ve created the haunted house to play off of your worst fears,” said co-founder Bilsak, a full-time architect who specifically designed the pathway through the haunted house to build a level of anxiety amongst its visitors. “We can see when someone is about to turn the corner, and that’s when we can have one of the ghosts pop out.”

The attraction opens to the public on Friday September 27th for the Fall Season and is open on weekends from Sept 27th through November 2. Ticket prices start at $32.  Tickets are on sale at Lincoln Mill Haunted House .
