ShopRite employee shot in Olney

A ShopRite employee was shot after having an argument with a customer in Olney.

Philadelphia Police told PHL17 that the 23-year-old cart carrier was involved in a verbal altercation with a 30-year-old customer outside the ShopRite parking lot located on East Olney Avenue.

The customer took out a gun and shot the employee two times in the stomach.

Police say the employee was taken to Einstein Hospital and is in critical condition.

Detectives were able to recover camera footage of the shooting.

The shooter stayed on the scene and was interrogated by police. The customer had a license to carry and own a semi-automatic gun.
