ProMusica to perform spring concerts in Sun City, Phoenix

ProMusica Arizona’s April concerts aim to take audiences on a magical journey through a whimsical world of “Fantasy and Fairytales,” featuring several pieces performed by ProMusica’s chorale and orchestra and the world premiere of “Argonautika Suite” by local composer Thomas Hartwell.

Performances are 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 15649 N. 7th St., and Sunday, April 14, at American Lutheran Church, 17200 Del Webb Blvd.

Beethoven’s “Choral Fantasy” will take center stage featuring concert pianist Deborah Offenhauser as piano soloist and PMAZ vocal soloists. Other concert highlights will be “Imaginary Creatures” with poems written by elementary school children set to music by Andrea Ramsey; the orchestra will play Mozart’s “Overture to the Magic Flute”; the chorale will be featured on Morten Lauridsen’s “Dirait-on” and “Nella Fantasia,” made famous by Il Divo from the film “The Mission”; and more.

Tickets are $28.50 for adults, $26 for military members and seniors (65 and older), $12 for students (ages 16-22) and children 15 and younger enter free with a a paid adult.

With more than 100 multigenerational singers and instrumentalists, ProMusica has performed more than 295 times for more than 141,000 audience members. ProMusica Arizona is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is supported by the Arizona Commission on the Arts, which receives support from the State of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts.
