Chop5 Eyes Expansion Into Arizona Market

Popular salad chain Chop5 is seeking to open several locations in the Phoenix area.

The Ohio-based franchise has enlisted a Scottsdale company to aid with the expansion, Phoenix Business Journal reports .

Chop5, which has been around since the 2010s, said the recent partnership with Conscious Capital Growth will hope to include several locations in Phoenix.

Chop5 co-founder Brian Mills expressed enthusiasm for the Phoenix market, saying the area’s franchising laws and general demographic suit the company well.

“When you start to look at the population at the food that we’re serving on, they chop salads and green bowls that are more on the healthier side. And when we start to look at the demographics, that’s what Phoenix really is,” Mills said. “They’re more of an active lifestyle. They want a healthier thing for themselves, so it only makes sense to be in the Phoenix area.”

The expansion comes amid a multi-year shift in the company’s business strategy: Chop5 is turning away from office-dominated locales to places more residentially robust. In a statement obtained by Phoenix Business Journal , Mills says customers are willing to “search us out a little bit now,” hinting at a brand loyalty base.

Currently, Chop5 is looking to find the right franchisees to work with. No potential locations or opening dates have been shared.
