ARLINGTON — Following two consecutive road series, the Texas Rangers returned home Tuesday and Wednesday for a twogame series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, a rematch of last season’s World Series. In a case of history repeating itself, the Rangers once again won the series, sweeping the Diamondbacks two games to none.

For the first game, May 28, the Rangers earned a 4-2 victory. After initially falling behind early in the game, the Rangers would respond with four unanswered runs to win the game.

In the second game, May 29, the Rangers picked up a 6-1 win. After two scoreless innings early on, the Rangers caught fire in the third inning and never looked back, winning the game and the series.

The first inning was scoreless, as both pitchers got off to a strong start. The second inning was more of the same, as the scoreless tie persisted.

In the third inning, the Rangers struck first when Wyatt Langford scored a run on an RBI double by Heim, giving the Rangers a 1-0 advantage. The lead extended to 2-0 in the fourth inning when Adolis Garcia scored a run.

Following a scoreless seven thinning, the Rangers added onto their lead once again when both Smith and Garcia both scored, raising the score to 6-0.
