Record-Breaking Heat and Severe Storms Signal Escalating Climate Crisis

Dave Callaway: So we presented with the situation where you’ve got 112 degrees in Miami for days and days in a row.

It just hit 110 in Phoenix.

You know, they last summer, they had something like 100 straight days of temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

You’re seeing hail in Iowa.

You’re seeing many tornadoes ripping through the Midwest.

You’re getting talks about hurricane season.

And so, you know, this isn’t, it’s not like we didn’t see this coming.

The scientists have been saying for the last year, at least, each month has been getting hotter and hotter and hotter, and each month of 24 is getting hotter.

But now we’re gonna start to see those effects and they’re gonna happen all at the same time.

And so I think for the first time, Doug, tragically, we’re gonna start to see the impact that mother nature can have when climate change really hits.
