My View: Leadership lessons from John McCain
Editor's note: Marla Sheiner was the press secretary for U.S. Congressman John McCain from 1981 to 1984. Sheiner’s new memoir, “McCain’s Navy Class of ‘82,” recalling her days working alongside McCain and his family, was published by Authorhouse on July 1 and also can be ordered on Amazon.com.<\p> Known throughout his career for taking unorthodox stances, McCain earned a the reputation early for being a political maverick and not always toeing the standard Republican line. He entered politics in Arizona in 1982, serving in the House of Representatives before running for and winning the job as the state’s junior senator in 1986. He then served for six terms in the Senate. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate, McCain was shot down as a pilot during the Vietnam War and spent more than five years as a prisoner of war before being released in 1973. He died on Aug. 25, 2018 at age 81. <\p>

My View: Coyotes' Meruelo had a billion reasons to leave Arizona
The NHL certainly made a huge splash when the newly minted Phoenix Coyotes arrived here from Winnipeg in 1996. In comparison, the demise in June of the Arizona Coyotes barely registered a ripple.<\p> If you think the cancellation of the June 27 land auction where Alex Meruelo, the team's former owner, had said he wanted to build a new arena immediately caused him to give up on the Valley, I suggest you think again.<\p>

My View: 5 ways to balance worker benefits for different generations
Today’s employers and human resources departments face a unique workforce dilemma. Longer life expectancy, prolonged retirement and a competitive workforce have created a broad, multigenerational employee pool.<\p> Rather than accommodating the needs of two or even three generations, companies must navigate the complex insurance needs of four distinct groups: baby boomers, Gen Xers, millennials and Gen Zers. Not only do these multigenerational employees have wildly different wants and needs when it comes to workplace benefits, they expect to have competitive benefits.<\p>
