Salt River Project will hold more public input sessions for a planned transmission line in the Laveen and south Phoenix area.

The utility will hold one in-person and two virtual open houses to discuss the plans for transmission lines to supply future growth along Loop 202.

The live virtual open houses will be noon and 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. The in-person open house will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Cesar Chavez Community Center, 7858 S. 35th Ave., Phoenix. Registration is required for the virtual open houses and encouraged for the in-person event.

SRP is developing a plan to build a new substation along with 2 to 3 miles of 230-kilovolt transmission lins and 1 mile of 500-kilovolt lines to meet group as part of its South Mountain Transmission Project.

Previous open houses were held, and SRP has incorporated feedback from those into the plan to be discussed in September.

To sign up for an open house, visit srpnet.com/SMTOpenHouse or call 1-855-584-1484.
