Woman dies after being hit crossing Indian School Road midblock

A 47-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle Friday night while crossing Indian School Road midblock near 67 ^th Avenue, police said.

The collision occurred just before 9:30 p.m. Aug. 16, and when officers arrived they found Latisha Sterling on the road with injuries. She died later at a hospital.

The driver stayed at the scene of the crash and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

Detectives said preliminary information suggests Sterling was crossing Indian School Road, west of the intersection and not in a crosswalk, when she was struck by the vehicle heading west. The investigation remains active, police said.
