Man found shot to death in alley

Phoenix police detectives are investigating the death of a 53-year-old man whose body was found Tuesday in an alley near 27 ^th Avenue and Solano Drive.

At about 6:50 a.m. Aug. 27, police were on a welfare check regarding an unresponsive man at the location. They found Jesse Benich with at least one gunshot wound, according to a release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest, police said.
