A 44-year-old man who was convicted in July on several drug charges has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, authorities announced.

Omar Evaristo Valenzuela Arella possessed fentanyl and other narcotics, including meth and heroin when he was arrested in November 2022, according to a release from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

A search of Arella’s central Phoenix home during an investigation by state and federal authorities uncovered:

    • 25 pounds of methamphetamine.
    • 4 pounds of heroin.
    • 4 pounds of fentanyl powder.
    • Two weapons.
    • $10,000.

In July, a jury found Arella guilty of one count of sale or transportation of a dangerous drug, one count of possession of a dangerous drug for sale, two counts of possession of narcotic drugs for sale and one count of misconduct involving weapons, according to MCAO.
