Did you know that Cannonball Run, one of my favorite movies ever produced, was filmed in Georgia?

The movie stars Burt Reynolds, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. who were known for their roles in playing "reverends" in the movie, Jamie Farr, Roger Moore, Dom DeLuise, Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Farr, Jackie Chan, Michael Hui, Mel Tillis, Terry Bradshaw.

This movie truly has it all from comedy to thrill. This movie has a piece of humor for everyone. I don't like to spoil movies but all I am going to say is, you put a movie together that stars Mel Tillis, Terry Bradshaw, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. you have a recipe for laughter.

The first movie in the Cannonball Run series which was released in 1981 was a true hit and was the 6th highest grossing domestic film of the United States.

The movie was based off of a true story of the 1979 running of the Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. The race was an cross-country outlaw road race that started in Connecticut and ended in California.

The movie was filmed in several states including our very own state of Georgia.

The motel at the beginning of the movie where the race started was filmed in Atlanta.

The ambulance scene in the movie that occured after the boat crash was filmed in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Covington, Georgia also played an important role in the movie as well.
