    Ingredients:

1 lb of ground breakfast sausage patties or links

3 Tablespoons of all purpose flour

    1 Teaspoon of salt

    2 Teaspoons of black pepper

2 Tablespoons of salted or unsalted butter

2 Cups of half and half (you can use regular whole milk if you do not have half and half)

    Directions:

In a cast iron or non-stick skillet cook your breakfast sausage until the sausage is done. Remove the sausage patties or links out of the skillet and place them onto a papertowel covered plate and leave the grease and sausage crumbles inside of the skillet.

Begin adding in the 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 teaspoons of black pepper. Stir the ingredients together and cook this mixture for around 1 minute, stirring constantly.

After 1 minute of cooking time is up, began slowly adding and stirring in the 2 cups of half and half.

Cook the sausage gravy mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the gravy begins to thicken.

Once the gravy has thickened to the consistency of gravy, add in your 2 tablespoons of butter and stir the butter into the mixture until it becomes well blended.

Whether you place the gravy over the top of your homemade biscuit for breakfast or on the side of the your biscuit along with the sausage patties or links, either way it is still just as good.
