MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — We are introducing you to the Piatt Co Trail Blazers 2024 Rodeo Queen, Mckenzie McMillen. “Welcome to the 69th annual Piatt County Trail Blazers Rodeo. My name is Mackenzie McMillen, I am from Oakley, Illinois and I am honored to be your 2024 Miss Trail Blazers Rodeo Queen. I am currently & finishing my bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee at Martin in Ag Business and currently work for a crop insurance AIP. I grew up showing horses in 4-H and now am a member of Illinois Barrel Racing Association and International Barrel Racing Association. Being the 2024 Miss Trailblazers is slightly out of my comfort zone, but I believe if you’re uncomfortable and chasing dreams then you’re doing life right. I want to wish all of the contestants competing in the rodeo good luck and safe travels and encourage everyone to get uncomfortable and chase any dream you have!”

Cerro Gordo American Legion Post #117 and American Legion Auxiliary recognized Flag Day at the Piatt County Fairgrounds on Friday evening as several spectators also gathered around the flagpole.
