Picayune Man Sentenced to Nearly 15 Years

Jeremy Cyntel Turner, 32, of Picayune, was sentenced to 179 months, nearly 15 years in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 124.7 kilograms of methamphetamine. The sentence was issued on May 24, 2024, in U.S. District Court in Gulfport.

The investigation into the drug trafficking organization began in 2015, focusing on activities in Picayune, MS (Pearl River County). Turner was identified as a participant in the conspiracy in 2018. The arrest of other co-conspirators in 2020 provided agents with information about a package of narcotics being delivered to a Picayune address. Turner retrieved the package, which contained methamphetamine, and admitted his involvement in the conspiracy. The total drug quantity attributed to Turner throughout the conspiracy was 124.7 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Turner pled guilty on June 21, 2023, to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

U.S. Attorney Todd W. Gee, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw of the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Acting Special Agent in Charge Eric DeLaune of Homeland Security Investigations made the announcement.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erica Rose prosecuted the case.
