SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (WLUC) - An 85-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man was sentenced to prison Tuesday for sexually assaulting his granddaughter for years. Joseph Aloysius Nolan Jr., 85, was sentenced to serve a minimum of 71 months and a maximum of 15 years in prison for three felonies, to which he previously pled guilty. Those counts include one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct (a 15-year felony) and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A house fire that killed a woman in Sault Ste. Marie in April was ruled as an accidental cooking fire that started in the kitchen. The Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department responded to the fire just after 11 p.m. on April 15. The victim, Amber Vasser, was found dead in the home during the firefighting operation.
