13th Annual Burger Bash raises money for Road to Recovery
SAULT STE. MARIE — MyMichigan Medical Center Sault and Central Savings Bank recently hosted the 13th Annual Burger Bash to raise money for the Road to Recovery Program. The fundraiser took place on June 12, and raised $8,548. The program, which is volunteer-driven, transports oncology patients from Sault Ste. Marie to Petoskey for specialized treatments.

City approves lock boxes to improve fire safety
SAULT STE. MARIE — The City of Sault Ste. Marie is standardizing the use of Knox Boxes to help families and businesses with fire safety. At the Sault City Commission meeting on July 1, commissioners passed an ordinance to force buildings in the city to comply to International Fire Code by installing a Sault Fire Department approved lock box called a Knox Box.
