Golf tournament benefits Serving Seniors
The Southwest Center on Aging and Friends invite all golfers to play in and support their charity golf tournament at the New Mexico State University Golf Course on Friday, Sept. 30. All proceeds will be donated in support of local seniors in our community through Serving Seniors of Southern New Mexico. The organization aims to improve health and quality of life for the thousands of older adults living in this part of New Mexico.

Clovis man sentenced for damage to jail
CURRY COUNTY, New Mexico (KVII) — A man from Clovis was sentenced to two years for an assault on a jail that happened on February 2, 2022. According to a Media Alert sent by the Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Office, Damon Martinez, 41, was one of "several inmates" involved in an incident at the Curry County Detention Center where inmates broke off a heavy-duty towel rack and used it to create a basketball-sized hole through the cinderblock that led to an air vent, providing roof accessibility.
