SCISA Prepares to Open 55th Football Season
Goose Creek, S.C. - The South Carolina Independent Schools Association is preparing to open its 55th football season with a new two-year alignment. Can Hammond (4A), Hilton Head Christian (3A), Bethesda Academy (2A), Patrick Henry Academy (1A) and Jefferson Davis Academy (8 Man) defend their 2023 titles? Hammond will be playing for their 8th straight title in Class 4A.
Greenville’s NEAT Bourbon Bar expands to downtown Greer
NEAT Bourbon Bar will expand to downtown Greer, bringing its portfolio of whiskeys to 108 E. Poinsett St. Ext. next to Rick Erwin’s Greer. Residences of Greer can expect classic and curated cocktails with a variety of spirits along with charcuterie boards and desserts. The Greer location will offer also outdoor seating.

Travis Oswald was promoted to vice president of CarolinaPower, a regional electrical contractor. He will oversee companywide construction services — engineering, virtual design and construction, and prefabrication, while still managing day-to-day operations of the Greenville office. Oswald has been with CarolinaPower for 19 years and has served as Greenville branch manager.
Clemson Basketball announces official nonconference schedule for 2024-25
Last week, Clemson and men's basketball head coach Brad Brownell agreed to a five-year extension that will make him the Tigers' head man through 2029. Clemson is coming off one of the best seasons in program history, reaching the Elite Eight in March for the second time in program history. Over the offseason, the Tigers lost PJ Hall to the Denver Nuggets and a few others to the transfer portal. Brownell added four players from the portal himself, building what seems to be another formidable roster for the upcoming year.

Three injured in four vehicle wreck – Highway 153
Three people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a four vehicle wreck on Highway 153. Powdersville and Three and Twenty firefighters had to extricate one patient from one of the vehicles.
