Westminster Man Jailed for Resisting Arrest and Domestic Violence
In an arrest warrant for 27-year-old Matthew Dillard Fowler, he is accused of assaulting an Oconee County deputy and resisting arrest during a domestic disturbance call on Spy Mountain Road in Westminster Sunday night. Fowler allegedly head-butted and shoulder-checked the deputy after being handcuffed and led to the patrol vehicle. He faces charges of assault on a police officer and domestic violence, with a $5,000 bond for the assault charge and a $2,500 bond for domestic violence. Fowler remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center.
Deadly trend: Greenville County pedestrian, cyclist deaths exceed pace of last five years
This year is trending to become the deadliest for pedestrians and cyclists in Greenville County. According to the Greenville County Coroner's Office data, Greenville County had 17 vehicle deaths involving pedestrians or cyclists between Jan. 1 and July 23.
