Children’s book by Greenville man tackles scary ‘C’ word
A Greenville man is honoring his mother’s legacy by publishing a book that helps children tackle the difficult subject of losing a parent to cancer. “The Big Scary ‘C’ Word” follows a child trying to be brave and positive as his mother goes through doctor visits and illness. The book was written by Drew Stamm, a shareholder with NAI Earle Furman, and illustrated by Upstate artist Gray Taylor.
Midlands Tech awarded $1M grant to expand construction program in fast-growing SC
COLUMBIA — Midlands Technical College will expand its construction trades program with a $1 million grant, the largest single corporate gift in the school’s history. The grant to Midlands Tech is one of 35 awarded by the Lowe’s Foundation since the company’s nonprofit arm started its Gable Grants program last year in an effort to train more workers in skilled trades.

Here is what’s on the agenda for the next city of Greenville Planning Commission meeting on Aug. 1. The “Baby” BI-LO project is an upcoming mixed-used development coming to the former BI-LO location in Greenville’s North Main neighborhood at 505 N.
